There are about 1 billion users that use Photoshop on a daily basis.

Combining Many Sets of Facets/Ontologies

So, I need to figure out how to combine several ontologies. I’m not sure if this is the proper Stack Exchange site to post about this, but I thought I’d try it out.
I have multiple ontologies that relate different facets of education and research. There’s common and all sorts of fun stuff, such as finance. The different ontologies are simply two different databases, and I’m trying to find a way to use tools to query them together, all in one place.
I know that each instance of each ontology is stored as an ID, and then I have a model of how they are related to one another. But I don’t know much about how to query through them. My first thought was to use DB2 as a database, then a query on the facets and then create a graph out of it, but I was hoping for a more elegant solution.
Any advice is appreciated.

Unless there is a requirement for a lightweight graph database (Neo4j etc) I would recommend using a single database (table) design where you store your information in one table and join it with a series of others via your ontology IDs.
If you have an ontology that needs to work on a bus then it’s good to have a bus ontology so that you can use other ontologies in a context that doesn’t require you to know they are buses. You can then use a view of that ontology to give a name to that bus ontology or run your queries against it.

Ruby on Rails 3 restful API – Kaminari pagination works but pagination helper doesnt

I’m setting up a simple web service for my clients which is fairly complex. However the majority of it is driven by a simple REST API. I would like to use Kaminari pagination helper but it doesnt work for me. I’ve searched everywhere for an answer but so far my searches have proved futile.
My page request comes with params[:page], params[:per_page] and params[:sort]. It’s all well and good that the RESTful API works and all the parameters are interpreted, but the pagination helper does not.

How do I count the amount of occurences of any character in a string in C?

I’m trying to write a program that counts how many occurences of any character in a string, i.e. it will count how many E, R, F, and L there are in the string. The problem is I am getting a segmentation fault (core dumped).

The code is:

int main() {

char str[256];
int *j = (int*)malloc(sizeof(int));
printf(“Input any character, type E for end: “);
scanf(“%c”, &*j);
int count = 0;
while(*(j+1)!= ‘E’) {

while(*(str+count) == *j) {
while(*(str+count)!= *j) {
printf(“# of occurences:%d”, *j);

And the problem is with the loop in the end of the program. It should keep looping until ‘E’ is found, and count how many occurences of any character in a string were found.
The issue: I am getting a segmentation fault (core dumped).

The segmentation fault (core dumped) occurs in this loop:
while(*(str+count)!= *j) {

you are incrementing count each loop and not checking what your variables are. (str is a char array)
In addition to that, you should not cast the malloc return from NULL.
Edit: In addition to malloc return, you are trying to access a pointer that is outside of the bounds of your allocated space.

The problem is that you are indexing into your string with str+count, which means you
